Clarke Carlisle's family is hopeful he will make a full recovery after his collision with a lorry last week. Carlisle, the former Premier League defender and Professional Footballers' Association chairman, was airlifted to Leeds General Infirmary with serious injuries following the incident last Monday, and underwent surgery the following day.
