Area high school sailing teams aim for shot at nationals

Wando High School won the North SAISA District, and along with five other Lowcountry high schools, will compete in the SAISA District Championships in St. Petersburg, Fla., during the weekend of April 18 for a chance at attending the ISSA High School Championship for the Mallory Trophy at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md., in May. Joining Wando from the Lowcountry are Beaufort, James Island, Academic Magnet, Waccamaw and Ashley Hall. In St. Petersburg, they will compete against high schools from Florida and the Caribbean.
