Walt Hameline, who guided Wagner College to the 1987 NCAA Division III championship and won a school-record 223 games, is retiring as head coach after 34 seasons at Grymes Hill, the college planned to announce Monday. Hameline, 63, didn't have to travel far to make his intentions known - he's also the school's athletic director, a role he assumed from P.J. Carlesimo in 1982 - his second year as head football coach - and in which he will remain.
