Not only did the Warriors finish in second place in Section 3, four games better than .500, they had the second-most goals of any team in the classification with 108 in 20 games and won playoff games against perennial contenders Upper St. Clair and North Allegheny before bowing out in the semifinals to eventual state champion Peters Township. Graduation eviscerated Penn-Trafford , which is the only winless team in the newly restructured single-division Class AAA.
