South Xtra: Tough schedule helped Monessen prepare for playoff run

Monessen cruised to an undefeated Section 3-A title this year, including two 50-point victories against second-place California in the regular season, the only section opponent the Trojans lost to. But as dominating as the Greyhounds' section play was, it may have been for naught if it wasn't for the team's challenging non-section slate against powerhouse teams from higher classifications.
