Clare doesn't appear ready to give up its grip on its Jack Pine Conference in cross country any time soon. On Wednesday, running in Gladwin the Pioneer runners easily won both sides of the second league jamboree, with the boys scoring 22 points and the girls 16. The boys finished more than 60 points ahead of Meridian, which had 68 points and were led by a three-pronged attack of Kyler Phillips, Kevin Spicer-Torres and Ben Haupt who finished in the top three spots with times of 17:28, 17:35 and 17:38.
