Mike Shanahan

Mike Shanahan's first tenure as the Raiders' head coach did not end well. He was fired by owner Al Davis four games into the 1989 season after compiling an 8-12 record over 20 games, and the two more or less hated each other after that, with Shanahan infamously ordering Elvis Grbac to lob a football at Davis during pregame warmups before a 1994 Raiders-49ers matchup .
