Board of Governors give green light for sale of Islanders

On Tuesday September 30, 2014 the NHL Board of Governors successfully passed a unanimous vote allowing the sale of the New York Islanders . Charles Wang will remain the majority holder for the Islanders over a two-year period which will eventually change to former co-owner Jonathan Ledecky and Scott Malkin who will be minority holders to start the transition period.
