A month or so ago Taieri had ''nine or 10'' players confirmed for the season and the club was contemplating pulling out of the senior competition. Some scrambling by stalwarts such as Michael MacKenzie has helped Taieri avoid the unthinkable and it will field a senior team this summer, after all.
