Here is the best thing the Islanders' coaching staff and management can say about Jaroslav Halak, the player who is supposed to be their goaltending savior: That was how coach Jack Capuano put it Thursday morning, before his team went to Newark to take on the Devils in their penultimate preseason matchup. Halak was set to play the whole 60 minutes in hopes of finding his game in anticipation of the Oct. 10 regular-season opener in Carolina.
